This bill creates a temporary moratorium on demolishing buildings in the Wissahickon Historic District, which is bounded by Ridge Avenue, Rochelle Avenue, Vicaris Street, and Hermit Street. The moratorium will last until 12 months after it goes into effect or until more than 25% of properties in the district are proposed for historic designation. During this time, no zoning permit can be issued for a complete demolition unless there is an emergency.
